The Deep Roots of the Witch Trials: Why We Still Burn the Unapologetic

When we think about the witch trials, history books often sum them up as short bursts of mass hysteria, superstition, or political greed. But look closer, and the truth feels more personal and much harder to face.

The witch trials were never really about devil-worship or magic. They were about control, fear, and the discomfort people felt when they couldn't control things. At the heart of those events were human struggles we still face today:

  • Egos and Rejection: Some men felt rejected or powerless when women stood strong in their self-expression, boundaries, or sensuality. If a woman couldn't be controlled, they called her dangerous.

  • Comparison and Insecurity: Sometimes, women turned against each other out of jealousy, fear, or insecurity. Deep down, they might have believed that if another woman was "too much," "too free," or "too visible," it put their own safety or place in the community at risk.

  • Fear of the Unknown and Ignorance: People clung to strict beliefs out of fear, shutting out ideas like natural healthcare, plant medicine, energy, and holistic science. Instead of staying open to learning, they chose not to understand and made enemies of what they didn't know.

The Need for a Scapegoat

In the end, people have long blamed others. When crops failed, someone got sick, social situations changed, or people felt uneasy inside, it was much easier to blame and punish someone else than to look within, take responsibility, or grow.

Does This Sound Familiar? It still happens today.

We may not light bonfires in the town square anymore, but the pattern remains the same.

Today, people still hold on to old beliefs, project their insecurities, and judge others who:

  • Think for themselves instead of following the crowd.

  • Advocate for deeper self-awareness, holistic health, and spiritual alignment.

  • Reclaim their voice, set boundaries, and live unapologetically in their own truth.

When you step outside the usual expectations or speak a deeper truth, the modern version of "witch-hunting" often follows. This can look like gossip, projection, isolation, or judgment from people afraid of what they don't understand.

Generational Trauma and Lost Autonomy

If you have ever felt:

  • A constant fear of being seen or heard when you share your true thoughts,

  • A strong urge to stay small or keep quiet to avoid conflict or judgment,

  • A deep feeling that your body, voice, or independence is not fully your own,

It may not have started with you. These patterns are often the heavy burden of generational trauma.

For centuries, women and intuitive thinkers were taught to believe that standing out, healing naturally, or speaking up could lead to physical, social, or emotional harm. That fear became part of us, passed down through generations of grandmothers and mothers who had to hide their gifts to keep themselves and their families safe.

Even if you live in 2026, your nervous system might still hold the message: "To be fully seen is unsafe."

Healing at the Root

You do not have to bring the fears of the past into your future. You deserve full control over your voice, your health, your mind, and your life. Real freedom doesn't come from understanding these patterns in your mind alone. It happens when you address the root and clear the trauma held in your body and energy.

In personalized, one-on-one trauma-informed coaching sessions, we create a safe, judgment-free space to:

  1. Identify and release inherited fears and blocks around speaking up.

  2. Reclaim your power and personal freedom, and set strong boundaries without feeling guilty.

  3. Work through and let go of current insecurities or judgments so you can stand strong in your truth.

  4. Embrace your deeper wisdom and honor your mind, body, and energy in a safe and true way.

It is time to stop making yourself smaller to keep others comfortable. It is time to calm your inner fears and step fully into your power.
